Trump sought the help of the Chinese president to be re-elected

Former United States National Security Adviser John Bolton has claimed in his new book that Donald Trump sought the help of Chinese President Xi Jinping to run for president in the second round. In a book soon to be published in the United States, Bolton claims that Trump wanted China to buy products produced by US farmers. News BBC Bangla.

The book, The Room Where It Happened, is set to be published on June 23. In January of this year, the White House said the book contained "top secret" information and descriptions, which must be omitted. But Bolton then denied it. The questions that arose during the Trump impeachment trial are contained in Bolton's book.

The allegations stem from a meeting between Trump and Shir on the sidelines of the G20 summit in Osaka, Japan, in June last year. In a summary of the new book published in the New York Times, Bolton claimed that the Chinese president had complained that some US critics wanted a new Cold War with China.

Trump thought Xi might be talking about his Democratic opponent. Bolton says Trump then surprisingly turned the talks toward the 2020 presidential election. Referring to China's economic potential, Trump wants help to win the election.

Bolton said he had repeatedly emphasized the importance of farmers and the increasing rate of Chinese soybean and wheat purchases from the country. When Xi remarked that trade talks would focus on agricultural production, Trump called him "the best leader in China's history."
Book Debate

Correspondents say the new book's information is reminiscent of Trump's impeachment. The Trump administration is already trying to block the publication of the book. The Department of Justice's complaint book contains "classified" information. Meanwhile, various controversies have already been created about the book.

Bolton's remarks were refuted by US Trade Representative Robert Laithizer. He said the meeting with the Chinese president did not discuss winning a run-off election.

In January, Trump faced impeachment for allegedly withdrawing military aid to pressure the Ukrainian president to launch a corruption investigation against Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden and his son Hunter. The U.S. president denied all allegations and Trump was released after a two-week trial without a witness in the Republican-controlled Senate
.
Bolton joined the White House in April 2016. In September of that year, Bolton announced that he had decided to step down as national security adviser. But Trump said he was fired because of disagreements with the president.
